Ideas Seat Program: 850 successful measures in the last edition

The Ideas Seat Program system is as follows: employees present their proposals on a digital platform and subsequently undergo an analysis by a group of experts to study their validity and applicability Bahrain Email List. In 2020 alone, the Ideas Seat program received more than 3,000 initiatives, of which 850 were chosen, which are already being implemented and which have saved the company 7.2 million euros. Among the latest projects presented, the one that has generated the most savings in the last year has been an algorithm that strengthens the delivery note tracking system for just-in-time supply parts, that is, those for which there is no stock and which are delivered in a matter of hours.

For Xavier Ros, Vice President of Human Resources and Organization of Seat, the company’s workers “have continued to promote and share their permanent desire to improve, despite the complexity of the situation arising from the pandemic.” In this way, for Ros, the Ideas Seat program is a reflection of the attitude of the workforce, ready to give “an additional boost to overcome the challenges of the company and of the current moment”.

Another of the recent ideas that Seat has highlighted in its balance sheet have been the replacement of oil pumps by vacuum pumps without emissions in the cooling systems of production facilities. With an approach also based on sustainability, this is the initiative recognized by the company that prioritizes the use of water for maintenance according to real needs, compared to the previous hourly automatic. For several years, initiatives arising from the ingenuity of the workers have also been implemented, such as the idea that an employee of the assembly line contributed in 2018 and with which it was possible to apply two different geometries, valid for both the previous and the current generation of the Seat Ibiza, thus avoiding making an investment in the installation during the coexistence of both versions on the assembly line.

In 2016, the then called Improvement Ideas program – it changed its name last year – achieved savings of almost 14 million euros thanks to the 14,000 ideas submitted by workers. The most unique initiative of the winners was a driving robot to control the direction and speed of the car in the development tests of driving assistance systems. In this way, with internal resources, a model was created that defines the speed and trajectory that the vehicle must take repeatedly with great precision socialposts.
