Miguel Escassi joins the Google Spain and Portugal team as the new Director of Public Policies and Institutional Relations. His role within the company will consist of publicly representing Google and serving as an interlocutor before the different governmental, political, academic, cultural and social institutions in the Iberian Peninsula.

Higher Telecommunications Engineer from the University of Seville and Master in Business Management and Engineering from Cornell University, Miguel has more than 15 years of international experience in the public and private sectors in the field of digital transformation.

In the public sector, Miguel has been advisor on Digital Transformation to the Second Vice President of the Government of Spain, Nadia Calviño, during the period of definition of the Spain Digital 2025 Agenda, as well as the digital policies, reforms and investments that make up the Plan Recovery, Transformation and Resilience of the Government.

Previously, he was Secretary of the Digital Agenda of the Government of Chile during the second term of President Michelle Bachelet, where he promoted reference programs in the field of start-ups, digital rights and telecommunications.

In the private sector, he was a partner in the New York office of the business strategy and management consultancy Oliver Wyman, working with clients such as Comcast, AT&T, Microsoft, Cisco, Tigo, Oi or Warner Bros. Later he was Director of Public Sector in Chile and Director of Big Data in Latin America for the consulting firm Everis.
