According to the consultancy, BBVA’s growth in this area is justified by “the growth in the use of the application in all age groups, especially in Generation Z, where use has grown by 12.8%”. The rest of the entities are more successful among the younger segments and their penetration rate reflects constancy. Similarly, it should be noted how ING and Banco Santander have been left behind due to lack of investment in the incorporation of the young target.
The general balance also points to a drop in engagement due to the need to test new apps and explore other mobile banking services as a result of the e-commerce boom that has caused the pandemic. “Many users have started to try new digital banks during quarantine to make online purchases with a different card than the one they usually use,” dictates the Smartme Analytics report. socialposts
