30% of mobile payments in the search engine have been made with PayPal, one of the payment methods most used by Internet users on the portal. According to the data provided by the ticket purchase and sale portal Ticketbis, traffic from mobile devices has registered an increase of 34% in Spain in 2013 compared to the previous year. Especially noteworthy is the increase in the use of tablets, which grew by 80%.
Payments with PayPal account for 30% of the Argentina Mobile Database total of those made during the year through the search engine from mobile devices, which places PayPal as one of the main means of payment used by Internet users.
According to data from a recent report commissioned by PayPal and carried out by IPSOS, Spaniards will spend more than 6,000 million euros on purchases through mobile devices in 2015, compared to the nearly 1,000 million they spent in 2012. According to data from the analysis, 66% of respondents have a smartphone and 30% a tablet. In less than three years, trade generated through mobile devices in our country will account for more than 33% of all electronic commerce, compared to 9% in 2012.
According to Jorge Díaz, Ticketbis product manager in Spain, “more than 34% of users who consult our portal in Spain do so from their smartphones or tablets, and we anticipate that the trend will continue to increase exponentially. Security, comfort and speed are key areas to guarantee our users a satisfactory shopping experience and at this point PayPal is a perfect ally for us ”.
For Miguel Ángel Cuesta, director of strategic clients at PayPal Spain and Portugal, “mobile commerce is key in the current context of electronic commerce. The high level of adoption and use of smartphones and tablets among Spanish families, and the growing confidence that users have in mobile transactions are factors that will decisively contribute to this trend continuing to grow ”.
65% of the Brother Cell Phone List Internet users surveyed in Spain by IPSOS between the ages of 18 and 54 declare that they have made purchases online and 26% show their intention to increase the frequency with which they do so. The five most popular products are travel (58%); tickets for shows (54%); music (37%); technological devices (36%); and software and video games (33%).
